Some reviews:
"Johnson offers an exuberant, engaging portrayal of Detroit" - London Free Press 5 June 2004
"The characters at the center -- Geordie Johnson as Nathan Detroit... -- are uniformly charming and credible" - Detroit News 16 June 2004
Geordie talks about the role:
"As soon as I read the book, I said, Yeah,' Johnson recalls, "There's a real play there. I love the characters. They all have such heart, never giving up. But they also have their foibles. It's a wonderful fable in that way.
"But I'm enjoying the show as a musical too. The talent around me is awe-inspiring. I spent the first two weeks of rehearsal with my jaw on the floor. Why me, I'm not sure I know. Out of the blue, somebody has an idea that you'd be good in the part. When as an actor you're offered those things, if they scare you enough, you say yes." - Detroit News 29 May 2004
Sheila McCarthy on working with Geordie:
"Being onstage with Geordie is fun. He's never done a musical and he's over the moon." - Toronto Star, 26 June 2004
